Gorgeous trims, typically MINI-esque all-around with its knobs switches and dials, brilliant Harmon Kardon sound system, cute mini version of the iDrive; it’s hard to forget BMW had their hand in all of this. Very well done.

Spatially, there was good enough space for driver – more so for passenger, and all the luxury and convenience to match. Tinier touches in the Coupe such as the mood lights, a dash display that’s been mounted to follow your steering wheel’s adjustment and enough drink cup holders for a small tea party, made this car’s driving experience great; very carefully and cleverly thought out.

Making up for the missing seats at the back, there was a rather impressively large boot. No problem at all fitting in your groceries; travel bags for a week’s getaway; and anything else you might need.

Yes, the two-seater arrangement did get on our nerves quite a bit. And again, unless of course this is bought to be purely a fun, weekend getaway/ personal track car, the MINI Cooper S Coupe doesn’t come recommended by us.

Also, just in case you were wondering what the Coupe’s sweeping roof is like to be under, it’s perfect. Headroom was quite sufficient. Much like the front and back mirrors and windscreens; there initially seems to be too little, but actually is just enough.
