There’s been quite the on-going debate on which is the prettier Beetle, the new one? Or the new, new Beetle? Tell us which you prefer!

In 1994, the world got its first look at what would be the New Beetle. Concept One, as it was called, was to resemble the original VW Beetle, but represent a sign of the times for Volkswagen; a fresh take on a tried and tested formula.

In 1998, we saw the birth of the New Beetle; engine in the front, curves as you would have it, and a rather impressive public reaction to boast.

It’s been almost 10 years now that the New Beetle has been about and putting smiles on peoples’ faces wherever it went.

More recently, and as you might have already seen on the road, VW have unleashed a new, new Beetle. They call it, the Volkswagen Beetle. And its looks have the topic of some heated debate lately.

Some say the new, new Beetle is hideous. It doesn’t carry around the same joy and delight the new Beetle had. The new, new Beetle lacks personality, it’s too big, it isn’t symmetrical, it’s boring, plain, all kinds of complaints!

Then, there are some of you who love the new, new Beetle; saying the rear has finally been fixed and that you can only now look at it, that the size increased isn’t noticeable, and that this one truly embodies the spirit of the original Beetle.

So to put this argument to rest and see what the majority really thinks and who’s actually winning the debate, drop us your comments below and TELL US WHAT YOU THINK!

the original beetle was designed for a purpose :- it was a folkswagen to ferry average families . It had character.It was low maintenance. It was styli**** had details.  Just like humans,it wasnt perfect but it had a soul . Most of all , it did not pretend ........... this is my choice

The 2012 Beetle just does not do justice to the 'BEETLE'....the design is just out of the world(pun intended)....and finishes the era of the car that was actually invented for the common man. I hope VW takes note of the real Beetle lovers like me...and bring back the vintage beauty...but ofcourse with a spacious design plus new amenities...WITHOUT CHANGING THE Beetle out of the BEETLE....!!!!

the 2012 beetle doesnt give me gossebumps when it passes in front of me! It fails to put a smile on my face. The 1998-2011 never fails to amaze me!! It still send a chill down my spine everytime I see it!!! I still want it!!!

Low quality control; I had a VW Golf, its A/C went out every year, then the computer to the injectors quit working,; they do not even pay for the tow! Sold it at a loss(upside down) in 1988. Had worthless extended warranty, too! -KLM-

I just fall in love with the VB 2012 at first sight. It's external body design, the placement of rear light just complement the body curve. it's perfect  fit unlike the earlier model (1998-2011). Can't compare the internal design and feature just don't have the chance to drive but I will one day. The VB 2012 will be here to stay for some time.

i personally think that the VW Beetle has to follow with the modern aerodynamic designs as what others are doing,.... but with certain image of the original beetle,,.tq
