Performance meets efficiency under the hood

Powering the all-new Focus ST is a 250 PS high-output version of the 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine that delivers the power of a larger displacement unit with the fuel efficiency of a smaller engine. It achieves this through a combination of high pressure direct injection, low-inertia turbocharging, and Twin-independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT), as well as redesigned intake and exhaust systems, and unique calibration.

This is expected to help deliver acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 248 km/h. It is also expected to return 7.2 l/100 km and deliver CO2 emissions of 169 g/km1. The engine also offers strong torque levels in a broad, flat curve peaking at 360 Nm.

This is the first time Ford has used a Ford EcoBoost engine in a high-performance model. Drivers will have a lot of power and torque at their disposal throughout the rev range. For everyday driving, the characteristics of this car will let owners drive in a more fuel-efficient way, which is an essential part of the ST’s DNA.

Mated to the 2.0-litre engine is a six-speed manual transmission, which produces maximum punch from each gear shift throw using specially-revised gearing. The sixth gear helps drivers achieve excellent fuel economy on longer runs.
